We needed to design a brand that catered to an audience that could range from professionals meeting up after work for drinks, couples on a date, yet be approachable for a family that wants to enjoy a night out. It is American food with a twist. There needed to be a website that visually highlighted the craft food as well as an online menu.
Working along side the restaurant manager and owner, we gathered information around their vision and key aspects of the restaurant. With a revitalization of the downtown where the restaurant is located, we drew inspiration from some of the local colors and the vision of a more modernized downtown.
My team and I developed a mood board to help the builders/contractors and other key stakeholders with a north star to look back to when making decisions about this new space. This had several pictures that captured the look and feel as well as what we expected the ambiance to feel like. We brought in images of fixtures and settings to help the builders match the look we were envisioning.
These images also help us develop the photo direction so we could go in and take visually stunning images. Food can be a difficult subject to capture and we wanted the images to feel higher end but also approachable and delicious.
After we had a logo and images I had designed the website to showcase the quality of the food and the ambiance of the restaurant. The site was developed using a CMS platform that allowed for easy menu updates for staff when changes needed to happen, and also featured online ordering and reservations.
